Living Like Pollyanna & The Ostrich (Susan James)

Living Like Pollyanna and The Ostrich
(The Conflict Between Physical and Non-Physical
Thought) (Instant Gratification Does in Fact Exist)
(by Susan James)

No secret I LOVE Books and Reading and I have
a real affinity for all who read. I flock to anyone I
see with a book and ask them about it. It doesn’t
matter if its fiction or non-fiction, I’m just excited
to talk with them about our shared love of
BOOKS.

So, recently, my sister and I went on our every
other month or so shopping day. We parked in
front of the mall. In front of a bookstore, BAM. I
told her we better not go in that entrance because
we both knew what that would mean. I would be
sucked in and not want to leave. Which is not fair
to my sister, but then again I let her drag me to
‘old stuff’ (antiques).

BUT she wanted to get a cook book about using
her Dutch oven that I had gotten her for her
birthday. So, in we went. I decided NOT to look at
books. I read from about 5 books every morning.
I read from 3 print books and 2 or more on my
Kindle. (I am getting to the point of this essay.)

She went to the cook books, I went to the
magazines figuring I couldn’t do too much damage
there. WRONG.

I bought and quickly, like they were going to
disappear in front of me; Fast Company (Reese
Witherspoon on the cover), Success (Jeff Bezos),
Forbes (Kiley Jenner), Entrepreneur (Danica
Patrick). I hurried over to my sister in the cook
book section to show her my treasures, which she
would never ever read, and I said: ‘If they ever do
away with physical books stores, just kill me where
I stand.’

Part of my reading involves success from the
physical view and part of my reading involves
success from the non-physical view. They are as
different as night and day. Sometimes I ask myself
why do I even bother with the physical POV
knowing and understanding what I know.

Maybe it’s so I will write about it. Maybe so it
would help others who seem to be pulled as I am
to things of a higher nature. Maybe it’s so I will
see where I still need to move or expand a belief.

This brings us to Tom Cruise. I purposely knew
that I wanted to see his latest film, Mission
Impossible and I ‘needed’ to see it on the big
screen. To say it was Awesome! Is an
understatement.

If I have anything in common with Tom Cruise it
would be in an ‘intention’. In interviews he does,
some of the deeper ones, he says his primary intent
is to ‘entertain’. That’s what he’s wanted to do
from his young age. He Does that and so much
More.

It’s with ‘Susan James’ that I’ve wanted to assist
others to have what they wanted and to do it in
easy and entertaining ways. That’s why the ‘Susan
James Casual’ showed up for me. That’s why the
games, the books, the courses and who knows
what else.

The point is this: We are told in many great books
by many great writers, that there is NO instant
gratification. That there is NO easy way, that there
are obstacles and challenges to get where we want
to get. And do not even think about winning the
lottery! There is no instant success. Maybe instant
rice but no instant success. (The Gods chuckle at
our conflict.)

Have I had challenges? Yep. Do I have any now?
Occasionally but its like ‘blurp’ on the screen, I
pay it no mind or matter. So what’s the paradox? I
ascribe to the higher point of view. I believe in
instant gratification, in ‘as if by a miracle’, as a
Pollyanna would believe, as an ostrich would bury
its head in the sand, and my head always in the
trees.

I’ve had to undue some things and develop some
other things in thought. But I have ALWAYS
chosen to believe that it had to be easier than what
we were being told through physical thought level
of books.

I no longer operate from the level of circumstance.
And when I find myself going there, I know how
to get out of it. I change my point of view to
‘instant and miracle’ to castles and buttons.
(I’ve written along those themes in ‘The Done
Deal’ and The Castles & Buttons Series.)

I’m currently re-reading Martha Stewart’s ‘The
Martha Rules’ in hardback, and also a book ‘about
her’ by one of her very good friends. This woman
LOVES what she does. She Entertains (as does
Tom Cruise) loving what she does. (Her first book
was ‘Entertaining’.) There is no ‘line’ between her
business her livelihood and her ‘life’. They blend.
They are her.

So…Dig In. Decide if you want to understand The
Point of View from The ‘Higher Perspective’
and run your life from there. Decide if you want to
believe know and understand that YES, Instant
Gratification exists, that YES you can have what
you want and YES it can be EASY and NOT
Hard. You will find miracles upon miracles as your
mainstay. You won’t have to tell anyone, but you
will change the room simply by being there. And
there is nothing more entertaining than that!

Best and Splendid Success!
